With a brand new website refresh in 2024, I thought it was the perfect time to start sharing more with you through this blog. I love educating and sharing ways to incorporate health, fitness, and wellness tips into your life efficiently and easily.
How Nicki Fit A to Z Began
I got my start in the fitness industry about 10 years ago, but my desire to make fitness a career began 12 years ago during a challenging chapter of my life – my divorce. Going through that messy process, I fell into depression and anxiety. Running became my refuge, lifting the weight of depression off my shoulders, even if just for the duration of a run.
Through this experience, I learned that fitness is more than just physical; it’s mental too. This realization fueled my passion to share these benefits with more women. I became a certified personal trainer and health coach, focusing on overall well-being, not just aesthetics.
The Start of My Personal Training Journey
When I first started, I noticed that gyms could be intimidating for women. To remove that barrier, I became a mobile personal trainer, bringing all the necessary equipment to my clients’ homes. I invested in various dumbbells, resistance bands, medicine balls, and steps to create a customized and personal training experience.
Adapting to Change: Virtual and Online Training
During the 2020 pandemic, my clients and I transitioned to virtual sessions. Today, I offer both one-on-one virtual training and online programs tailored to fit your busy schedule. This approach is perfect for those with busy schedules or who prefer working out at odd times during the day.
Online training can be done at home or even at a gym, providing flexibility and convenience to meet your fitness goals.
Personal Touches: Meet My Dog, Izzy
If you follow me on social media, you may have seen my dog, Izzy. She’s my precious companion, and we love doing activities together, like hiking and paddleboarding. Though she’s not a fan of long hikes, she enjoys being by my side.
Family and Nature: My Sources of Inspiration
I live in Scottsdale, Arizona, close to my immediate family. We value quality time together and enjoy outdoor activities. Hiking, paddleboarding, and kayaking are some of my favorite ways to recharge mentally.
The Little Luxuries in Life
For me, luxuries include getting 8 to 9 hours of sleep, enjoying a well-rounded meal, and sharing a great glass of wine with friends. I also love to cook and find joy in preparing healthy meals.
